Intended Audience
Psychologists, Counselors, Mental Health Clinicians, etc. This course is designed for licensed mental health clinicians who have completed an EMDRIA approved EMDR Basic Training.

Course Outline and Objectives
Kriss Jarecki, LCSWR
Kriss has been a LCSWR since 1987. She is a consultant and trainer for Progressive Counting and an EMDRIA Approved Consultant, Basic Trainer and Advanced Credit Provider. Kriss currently serves on the EMDR International Association Board of Directors and served as a co-regional coordinator for the WNY EMDR Regional Network for 10 years. Kriss is a member of the WNY TRN and provided Flash for first responders during COVID and in the Ukraine. She currently has a private practice serving adults treating challenges such as PTSD, anxiety, depression, phobias, and folks with disabilities. She has published articles in the Journal of EMDR Practice and Research, Traumatology and Counseling and Psychotherapy Research. Kriss also provides several trauma related trainings such as A Tour of Trauma Sensitive Techniques for the EMDR Practitioner, IFS Meets EMDR and Queer Affirmative EMDR. She also created a course called The Colors of Trauma and Shame for her local university. Kriss presented “From Trauma to Triumph: Journey to Resiliency in the Community of Those with a Disability at the EMDR Canada 2022 and 2023 conferences and the EMDR International Association 2022 conference. Trauma Recovery, EMDR Humanitarian Assistance Programs (Trauma Recovery/HAP)
is fully committed to conducting all activities in strict conformance with all our public facing and internal and accreditation grievance policies. Trauma Recovery/HAP will comply with all legal and ethical responsibilities to be non-discriminatory in promotional activities, program content, and in the treatment of program participants.
The monitoring and assessment of compliance with these standards will be the responsibility of the Education Chair/Continuing Education Director in consultation with the member of the continuing education committee (Trauma Recovery/HAP Training Operations Team), the Trauma Recovery/HAP's Ethics Chairperson and the Convention/Conference Chairperson.
While Trauma Recovery/HAP goes to great lengths to assure fair treatment for all participant and attempts to anticipate problems, there will be occasional issues which come to the attention of the convention staff or an officer of Trauma Recovery/HAP. This procedural description serves as a guideline for handling such grievances.
When a participant, either orally or in written format, files a grievance or expects action on the complaint, the following actions will be taken. If the grievance concerns a speaker, the content presented by the speaker, or the style of presentation, the individual filing the grievance will be asked to express their comments in written format. The Educational Chair/Continuing Education Director will then pass on the comment to the speaker, assuring the confidentiality of the aggrieved individual.
If the grievance concerns a workshop offering, its content, level of presentation, or the facilities in which the workshop was offered, the Convention/Conference Chairperson will mediate and will be the final arbitrator. If the participant requests action, the Convention/Conference Chairperson will:
2a) attempt to move the participant to another workshop.
2b) provide a credit for a future workshop or on-demand course equally valued;
2c) or provide a partial or full refund of the workshop fee.
**Actions 2b and 2c require written notes documenting the grievance for record keeping purposes. Either note need not be signed by the aggrieved individual.
If the grievance concerns Trauma Recovery/HAP CE program in a specific regard, the CE Educational Chair/Continuing Education Director will attempt to arbitrate and will engage the Clinical Consultant team and when necessary, the executive Director. When the grievance is filed by a social worker, the Social Worker Consultant will be involved in the investigation and resolution of all grievance. If further escalation is necessary, the grievance will be sent directly to the Board President.
